The 40-second tour — enter your bills once, keep one number current. There is no step three.

Keep Above is a budgeting app for people who would rather not log every purchase. You enter each bill and your income once, and keep your balance current now and then. From that it works out the balance you would need to cover everything coming, the safe line, and projects your balance and your sinking funds forward day by day, up to 30 years ahead. It shows no spending history, and it has no bank connection, so it works the same in any country.

What does Keep Above do?

It works out the balance you would need today to cover every bill that is still coming, and shows how far your real balance sits from that line. Bills and income go in once as repeating items, your sinking funds are worked out from them, and the whole picture is projected forward so a tight spot shows before it lands rather than after.

How much upkeep does it need?

You enter each bill and your income once, and after that you keep one number current: your balance. There is nothing to reconnect, because there is no bank connection, and nothing imported to categorise, because nothing is imported. Your day-to-day spending shows up on its own the next time you update the balance.

What does it not do?

It keeps no spending history and no categorised record of where your money went, it does not capture transactions for you, and it does not know your real balance unless you enter it. It does not move money or pay bills. If what you want is a record of the past rather than a view of what is coming, Keep Above is not built for that, and an app with a bank feed is.
